Tuesday, August 23rd, Assembly Meeting has two items that may be of interest to you as a League member:

FIRST: Resolution Recognizing Women’s Equality Day and the League of Women Voters

Come to the Assembly Meeting Tuesday, August 23rd, between 5 and 6pm. There is to be a Resolution (see attached) Recognizing Aug 26 as Women’s Equality Day and Celebrating the Ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment on Aug 26. The League will be mentioned, and we will be in the audience to listen to the reading of the resolution. Wear any League swag you have.

SECOND: Resolution to change the Municipal Clerk to an elected position.

Later on in the meeting, Item 14.A. is the Resolution to change the Municipal Clerk to an elected position. We will, as the League, provide testimony in opposition to the suggested change.

You may testify as an individual at the Assembly meeting if you wish. Just remember you cannot testify for the League, but you can mention that you are a member of the League.
